How Google+ Was Made For College Students
Hopefully you have heard of Google+ and it’s cool features like Circles, Hangouts, Huddle, and Sparks. College students have a lot to gain by joining Google+. Although there is a lot of speculation as to whether or not Google+ will beat out Facebook, there are still many features that college students can take advantage of by being on Google+.
Hangouts
Who doesn’t love hanging out? Maybe your best friends are all at other universities, or maybe you want to do a video chat for a study group. Google+ lets you set up a hangout with whoever you want, and you can have up to 10 people in a hang out at a time! You can even watch YouTube videos together, what more can you ask for? Google+ hangouts are supported on Mac, Windows and Linux systems. Facebook has nothing compared to this, so take advantage of this feature to help make college life better and easier.
Circles
With Google+ circles, you can choose to share some things with college buddies, others with parents, and almost nothing with your boss. This is how you do it in real life, so Google+ makes it easy to keep it that way online. Circles are very convenient for college students because they can easily make circles for friends, family, and study group colleagues. You can post something for your study group and only they will see it. Let’s face it, no one cares about your upcoming biology project, so make sure the only people who do care are the ones that see it.
Huddle
Huddle is a mobile feature for Google+ users, for now only available to those who have android phones. Google said an iPhone version is coming out soon. Huddle is great because not only does it allow you to message you friends for free, but you can have a huddle with up to 50 people at a time! No more texting different people trying to figure out group plans. Now you won’t get in trouble for forgetting to text your best friend about going to see the new Harry Potter movie. Huddle lets you combine all your conversations into one group chat, making life and organization easier and more effective.
These three features of Google+ are just a few of the benefits Google+ has for college students. If you don’t have an account, try asking around for someone who does and they can send you an invite. College will only get easier when you take advantage of all Google’s free services. And the best part? They are always getting better. Google is constantly seeking to develop their products so they are easier and more efficient. It’s like having your own team of programmers who are slaving away to make your life better. For a college student, you really can’t go wrong with Google+.
